Two devastating tragedies have hit the lab
Yagev Buchshtab, brother of Ph.D. student Nufar Buchstab, was brutally kidnapped from his home with his wife Rimon and taken taken hostage by Hamas on Oct. 7 2023. Rimon was released while Yagev was tragically murdered in captivity.
Liam Shrut was a brilliant research assistant in the lab, who was about to begin her Master's degree on Oct. 2025. She was killed in a car accident in Thailand just before beginning her studies.
Our hearts remain broken from these tragedies.
